The lighthouse on Ocracoke Island may not be a big or as colorful as others on the Outer Banks but it has stood quiet vigil for almost 200 years now. Everytime I'm on the island I make a point of capturing a few images of it. I have dozens taken around the lighthouse but there are two compositions that I have been trying to get.
 
The first is a night image but I haven't had too many clear sky nights to get that done. I did however finally manage to get the second, a shot from the sound of both the lighthouse and hurricane house. It was early morning and the light and clouds were just right. 
 
The simple black and white image remind of an early time on an island that really seems to change very little over the years.
