Embace The Chaos

Things are not always as they seem. The calm reflected in this image in no way conveys the chaos endured to capture it. To begin with the temperatures were in the low 30s with the wind driving them even lower. The beach re-nourishment project goes all night with huge lights so I was trying move as far away from it while keeping the camera pointed in the right direction. I was standing in shifting sands that made balance difficult and each wave threatened to pour icy water down my my boots. Of course the tide was also coming in so my composition was changing by the minute.

I finally decided to stop fighting it and just get my shots. Embrace the chaos, sometimes it's the only thing that will truly give you calm.⁠
